Marks distribution:

For passing a course you are required to get 20% marks overall in all items like assignments, discussions, midterm etc and at least 20% in final exam.

 

 

 

Minimum Passing Marks:-

 

In order to complete a course successfully, a student required to obtain at least 40% marks (expect MS(CS) program) provided he/she obtains at least 20% marks separately in semester work (including marks obtained for Midterm, quizzes, assignments, and class discussions) and final examination.

20% Rule for passing an Exam

There is requirement of passing a subject that one student should be consistent in his studies through out. Therefore you are required to get 20% marks in rest of the items like assignments, midterm, discussions etc and at least 20% in final exam. This will make you eligible to pass a subject and then if you secure marks more than 40% overall while fulfilling the 20% criteria first then you would be considered as pass. Marks distribution:

Punjab University programmes to be broadcasted on VU TV

Punjab University and Virtual University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which agrees that both would share airtime in their FM and TV channels, respectively.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at Committee Room of Vice Chancellor's office in which PU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran, Advisor Virtual University Professor Dr Naveed Malik, Managing Director VU Tajdar Alam, Director External Linkages Maria I Maldonado, Principal PUCIT Professor Dr Mansoor Sarwar, Director Institute of Communication Studies Professor Dr Ahsan Akhter Naz, Assistant Professor Amir Bajwa and others were present on the occasion.

According to the MoU, now PU's news, academic programmes, documentaries, etc, will be aired on Virtual University's TV channel and Virtual University will also utilise airtime of PU's FM 104.6. On the occasion, Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran said that Punjab University and Virtual University both would benefit from each other's experiences which would strengthen higher education in country. Dr Naveed Malik said that Virtual University is benefiting from Punjab University and Dr Mansoor Sarwar also played his role in course development. Tajdar Alam said that there would be no charges on airtime sharing which would be beneficial for both of the universities.
